Gábor Gyurák, a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology of the University of Pécs (PTE), has earned the European champion title and a global second place finish in the instructor category of the Huawei ICT Competition, one of the world’s leading international cybersecurity contests. The university announced the achievement on Monday.

In the statement, the university highlighted its consistent performance in both domestic and international tech competitions. In recent years, PTE teams have achieved top placements, including second place in the Cisco CyberCup and sixth in the 2024 Cisco CyberRace.

The university emphasized that this expanded regional role represents significant recognition and will help maintain PTE’s leadership position in digital education within the region.
