At the initiative of the Hungarian Bath Association, the Night of Baths will be held again this year on 29 July. Fifty baths from all parts of the country have joined the nationwide event.

The Bath Association informed in a statement on Tuesday that Hungarian beaches are welcoming night bathers with high-quality programmes for the fourteenth time, and it is expected that the baths all over Hungary will be filled with visitors. The night bathing experience will be enhanced with water cinema, night-time and daytime sports programmes, fire jugglers, sauna programmes, drum shows, foam parties, and diving demonstrations. Concerts and performances by DJs will entertain beachgoers from Sárvár and Berettyóújfalu to Leányfalu and the Zsóry-fürdő.

Several baths will offer discounted entry fees and extended opening hours to accommodate those who want to swim and party, with some locations even staying open until three in the morning. The organisers of the Night of Baths event also emphasise safe bathing practices this year, highlighting that Hungary’s primary tourist attractions are its medicinal and thermal baths, adventure pools, and beaches. The event provides an excellent opportunity to discover and explore Hungary’s domestic baths. Apart from the natural water beaches, Hungary has 200 operating medicinal and adventure baths.

The event Strandok éjszakája or Night of Baths is an annual summer festival held in Hungary. It is organised by the Hungarian Bath Association (Magyar Fürdőszövetség) and aims to promote and celebrate the country’s numerous thermal baths, adventure pools, and beaches.

The first Night of Baths took place in 2008, and since then it has become a popular and eagerly awaited event for both locals and tourists. The festival usually occurs at the end of July or the beginning of August, a time when the summer season is in full swing, and many people seek relief from the hot weather in the refreshing waters of Hungary’s baths and beaches.

During the Night of Baths, participating baths and swimming areas throughout the country stay open well into the night, offering visitors the opportunity to enjoy various entertainment and recreational activities under the stars.

The festival aims to attract a diverse audience, from families with children to young adults looking for a fun and unique summer experience. The Night of Baths provides an excellent opportunity for people to socialise, have fun, and enjoy the attractions of Hungary’s baths and beaches in a festive and vibrant atmosphere.
