The Budapest Showcase Hub (BuSH) will celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, hosting three days of concerts and professional events across several of the city’s popular venues—Turbina, Gödör, and Akvárium Klub—between 29 and 31 October. More than 30 acts from 15 countries will perform, showcasing the most exciting new talent from Central and Eastern Europe.
As in previous years, BuSH will feature the region’s most current and diverse performers, offering everything from Polish–Colombian baile funk and Ukrainian guitar rock to Zagreb skate anthems, ethereal electronica, and cutting-edge club music. Mexico’s rising superstar Silvana Estrada, a Grammy-nominated artist known for her distinctive cuatro playing and soulful vocals, will also perform her new album.
According to organizers, the lineup features artists already gaining recognition in their home countries but new to Hungarian audiences. This year’s festival will have a strong electronic focus, headlined by Analog Balaton, a leading name in Hungary’s downtempo scene. Other highlights include NFNR from Ukraine with dreamy ambient and IDM, Ancestral Vision from Prague, and Sw@da x Niczos presenting their unique blend of Polish–Colombian baile funk.
The programme also features live electronic acts such as Ljubljana’s consule and Cabrio Cat, a new project from the guitarist of Middlemist Red. Additional performers include Bulgarian electropop act LVA, Kyiv-based electronic producer YUVI, and a closing DJ set featuring Richie Beige and a member of the Ukrainian DJ collective Shum:rave.
Beyond the electronic scene, BuSH embraces a broad mix of styles: Prague’s Sundrinker brings prog rock infused with Midwest emo and shoegaze, Ukraine’s Zlypni offers raw garage rock, Romania’s Kadjavsi performs melancholic rock, Zagreb’s IDEM delivers Gen Z-inspired feel-good pop, and Estonian singer-songwriter Alonette channels 1970s nostalgia.
Hungarian performers will include Analog Balaton, Makrohang (post-rock), Nagy Emma Quintet (jazz), Vidal (darkwave/post-punk), Jules War (art-pop), and Swim Swim Naked (electropop).
In addition to concerts, BuSH will host industry workshops, talks, and panel discussions addressing global and local music industry challenges and trends. Agents to international stars like Beckie Sudgen and Marlon Burton will discuss opportunities in the Central and Eastern European market, while sync expert Leonhard van Voorst will explain how music finds its way into video games. Networking events will connect artists, journalists, label representatives, and festival curators, including from Fusion Festival.
Lahmacun Radio will host a roundtable on ethical streaming, and another session will explore the future of major festivals with insights from the deputy director of Madrid’s Mad Cool Festival and the lead organizer of Hungary’s Sziget Festival.
The 10th Budapest Showcase Hub is supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary and the Municipality of Budapest.
