After Minnesota at the beginning of the year, the epicentre of the anti-ICE protests has recently shifted to New Jersey in the United States. This is in part precipitated by a hunger strike by inmates at an ICE detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.
At one of the protests in Newark, a left-wing activist got really carried away during a clash with law enforcement.
On Wednesday, 27 May, the man in question was caught on camera yelling at an ICE agent: ‘You are killed. I’ll kill your whole f***ing family. Your whole f***ing family is dead. Your children, your wife, all dead. I have your face, motherf***er.’
The incident came the day after Democrat Governor Mikie Sherrill of New Jersey praised the ‘peaceful’ anti-ICE protests in her state.
On Friday, 29 May, Acting Attorney General Todd appeared on The Will Cain Show on Fox News, where he commented on the incident.
‘That’s a federal crime,’ he stated. ‘Not only threatening the ICE officer—but think about how disgusting this individual is by threatening his wife and his children with death.’
He also vowed that the New Jersey man hurling vile threats at a federal agent would be arrested for his actions. And later on the same day, he was.
AG Blanche announced on the social media site X that the alleged perpetrator is now in federal custody. He simply wrote: ‘Told you’ in his post announcing the arrest.
