Surveillance footage of an attack by a group of men on a person inside an apartment building in Vilvoorde, Belgium, has been released and is being circulated on the social media site X.
The right-wing news aggregator account Europa.com claims that the attack captured took place on 22 August and was perpetrated by a group of migrants against an elderly man.
The victim’s face is blurred in the footage; thus, it is impossible to ascertain his age. However, the attackers do appear to be of North African descent.
Belgian MP Tom Van Grieken, a member of the right-wing Flemish nationalist Vlaams Belang Party, also posted about the incident. He too claims that the perps were foreign nationals, even going as far as calling them ‘foreign thug scum’.
‘Is this how system politicians protect our people? We are clear: arrest this scum,’ he goes on to write.
In a post of his own about the attack, right-wing activist Dries Van Langenhove shared that in the city of Vilvoorde, where the event took place, 82 per cent of the local youth have a migrant background; while ‘the last remaining elderly white residents are bullied out of their apartment buildings by migrant gangs’.
Earlier this year, back in April, British right-wing activist Tommy Robinson posted about another attack by migrants in Vilvoorde. He shared a video which he purports shows a young Belgian native being assaulted by migrants after he came to the defence of a girl who had been harassed by the group of men.
