On Wednesday, 6 December, Katalin Novák participated in the Advent programme organized by the Hungarian Reformed Church Aid (HRCA) to assist the homeless.

The President of the Republic contributed to the assembly of packages at the aid organization’s Budapest headquarters, and together with the charity service’s staff, delivered them to the Tiszta Forrás Foundation’s homeless shelter.

The packages, prepared with the assistance of the President, included ready-made meals, canned goods, savoury snacks, chocolates, festive candies, immune-boosting supplements, and personal care items.

According to information from HRCA,

during the winter months, they provide assistance to over ten thousand people living in challenging conditions across the Carpathian Basin through various programmes.

They are fulfilling the Christmas dreams of 1,358 children with their wish lists, distributing at least 4,000 shoeboxes to children living with foster parents and those beyond the borders in December. Additionally, through the ‘Szeretetdoboz’ (Love Box) initiative, they expect to provide durable foodstuffs to approximately 6,000 families and elderly individuals.

During the winter crisis period, the charitable organization will donate fuel to 125 families, and for those living on the streets, they will provide support on the coldest days with hot meals, food packages, and tea deliveries.

Support for the charity service’s work can be extended through the 1358 donation line,

with each call contributing 500 HUF, or by online card payments on the jobbadni.hu website.
