The fourth annual CPAC Hungary conference is currently taking place in Budapest, Hungary at the Budapest Congress Centre. The official motto of the event is ‘the Age of the Patriots’. The new era was brought about by President Trump’s election victory in the United States last year, as co-host Dániel Bohár joyfully shared with the audience.
Just like the years before, the event is organized by the Budapest-based conservative think tank Center for Fundamental Rights.
The Center’s Director General Miklós Szánthó greeted the distinguished guests and the audience with some brief remarks. In it, he pointed out that this is the first CPAC Hungary that is happening under the presidency of Donald Trump in the United States, with the event series having been inaugurated in 2022. Then, he went on to state that there is a global regime change taking place in the world right now, similar to the regime change in Hungary 36 years ago. ‘We are the resistance, we are the counterrevolution,’ Director Szánthó proclaimed, in the fight against the woke insanity and for national sovereignty. He also shared a very symbolic tidbit of information: the city of Brussels’ ancient Flemish name, Bruocsella, translates to ‘the settlement in the swamp’…
Up next, Chairman of the American Conservative Union, the organization behind the original, American CPAC, Matt Schlapp took the stage. He lauded the fact that after four years of sorrow under the Biden administration, which ‘felt like a communist dictatorship,’ as he put it, he can finally be happy again under President Trump. He recalled the time he had spoken to him before he announced his initial run for the Presidency back in 2015; and how he expressed doubts if Americans would accept an outsider Commander-in-Chief. Thankfully, they did, and President Trump got to take office and stand up against mass migration, just like PM Orbán did in Hungary at the time.
Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze of Georgia, the next distinguished speaker, spoke about the need for Europe to protect its Christian identity, even against globalist forces. He also stated that his nation is committed to European integration, but it will not go forth with that process if it requires sacrificing its national identity and dignity.
President Trump himself recorded an exclusive video message for CPAC Hungary 2025, which was played next in the auditorium.

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán Speaks at CPAC Hungary 2025
After the video message was played, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán took the stage to deliver his keynote address.
He started by noting that ‘a lot has changed’ since last year’s CPAC Hungary, again referring to the result of the 2024 US presidential election. He also proudly pointed out that at last year’s event, he predicted President Trump’s eventual victory. This, he continued, is also a testament to the fact that ‘there is no victory without suffering,’ this time referring to the criminal indictments and assassination attempts against President Trump. ‘The liberals could not take half of it,’ he flippantly added.
Another great example of that is Prime Minister Robert Fico of Slovakia, who was shot five times in an assassination attempt of his own last year. Yet, PM Orbán lauded, he is still standing and fighting against the Brussels bureaucracy. Fico will be delivering a speech at CPAC Hungary 2025 later today.
‘There is no victory without suffering’
PM Orbán went on to highlight and praise a few other attendees, such as Former Prime Minister Andrej Babiš of Czechia, who was a strong ally of Hungary within the EU, and without whom ‘Hungary could not be a migrant-free zone today.’ He also wished Babiš a swift return to office.
Next, the Prime Minister spoke of the runoff of the Polish presidential election, which is taking place this Sunday. ‘What is happening in Poland today is true liberal democracy: they are stomping on constitutional values every day,’ he lamented, then stating that the EU aiding the Tusk administration in that is one of its greatest sins.
On more general matters, PM Orbán said that at a time when Europe has to take on a ‘heavyweight’ President of the United States in tariff and trade negotiations, it turns out we only have ‘featherwight’ leaders in Brussels; and that, due to mass migration, in many places in Europe people no longer feel home in their own countries.
Europe has two plans before it to choose from, he explained. One is the liberal plan, and the other is the patriotic plan. The former advocates for centralized financial power, common debt among Member States, the sidelining of our traditions and Christian heritage, and a pro-war leadership stance. In contrast, the patriotic plan supports a pro-peace approach, national sovereignty, freedom of thought and opinion, and an end to mass migration.
We, Hungarians have chosen the latter, the Prime Minister stated. Now it is time for all of our allies in Europe to first win the battles in their respective home countries, then take the fight to Brussels.
‘It’s time to Make Europe Great Again,’ Prime Minister Orbán concluded his speech.
