More than 50 side events will accompany this year’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week, with exhibitions, workshops, pop-up events and professional programmes running across the city between 9 and 15 February.

More than 50 accompanying events will take place alongside this year’s Budapest Central European Fashion Week, offering exhibitions, showroom and studio visits, pop-up events, workshops, professional talks and community programmes across the city between 9 and 15 February.

According to organizer Creative Hungary, the multi-day programme aims to turn the fashion week into a city-scale cultural event built around discovery, allowing visitors to encounter contemporary fashion and creative industry innovations through different genres, locations and formats.

Craftsmanship, material use and object culture will be among the key focuses, with sustainability also playing a prominent role. Events centred on upcycling, zero waste workshops and programmes promoting conscious wardrobe building will reflect current challenges facing the fashion industry.

Open studios and showroom days will provide opportunities for direct encounters with designers, while pop-up events and limited collections will place the emphasis on the shopping experience, in many cases offering discounted purchases.

The programme will also highlight fashion’s connections to other fields, including the beauty industry, contemporary visual arts, interior and object design and lifestyle collaborations, further broadening the scope of the week.

Professional events will also feature, including the Creative Forum organized by Creative Hungary, which offers practical knowledge and industry perspectives for creative professionals. The Creative Academy will focus on digital visibility and brand communication challenges within the beauty industry.

Most of the accompanying events will be open to both the public and professionals, with many programmes free of charge, while some will require prior registration or be invitation-only.

Creative Hungary, formerly known as the Hungarian Fashion and Design Agency, has organized the Budapest Central European Fashion Week twice a year since its establishment in 2018. The event has become a key meeting point for audiences, buyers, designers, influencers and Hungarian and international media in the region.
