Around a million people joined British right-wing political activist Tommy Robinson’s Unite the Kingdom rally in London on Saturday, demonstrating the dissatisfaction of UK citizens with the government’s migration policy, among other issues. The rally, attended by conservative political commentators, activists, and even US billionaire Elon Musk via video, was also a tribute to Charlie Kirk, US activist and co-founder of the Turning Point conservative think tank, who was shot dead last Wednesday by a far-left extremist.
Described as the ‘festival of free speech’, the demonstration drew a significant crowd. According to London’s Metropolitan Police, the number was around 110,000; however, organizers and reports, along with recordings on social media, indicated that at least a million people filled the streets of London on 13 September. The march is widely seen as the largest anti-immigration protest in the history of the United Kingdom.
‘It’s not just Britain that is being invaded. It’s not just Britain that is being raped. Every single Western nation faces the same problem: an orchestrated, organized invasion and replacement of European citizens is happening,’ warned Robinson in his speech. Born Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, Robinson was released from prison in May 2025, after serving 18 months due to a controversial ruling in a case involving Syrian refugees.
‘If you are watching this and you’re from France, if you are from Germany, Poland, Spain, any other European country, we want to unite all the patriots of Europe together for a future where we fight together,’ Robinson added.
US billionaire and former DOGE secretary Elon Musk addressed the crowd via video link, warning of a ‘rapidly increasing erosion of Britain with massive uncontrolled migration’, and declaring that ‘something’s got to be done. There’s got to be a dissolution of Parliament and a new vote held.’ He charged that the government had failed its most basic duties, stating: ‘a failure by the government to protect innocent people, including children who are getting gang-raped.’ Musk also issued a stark call to action: ‘If this continues, that violence is going to come to you, you will have no choice. Whether you choose violence or not, violence is coming to you. You either fight back or you die.’
Dutch political activist Eva Vlaardingerboek also delivered a fiery speech at the rally. ‘We are fighting a fight of truth versus lies, of freedom versus tyranny, and of light versus dark. And just three days ago, one of our bravest warriors lost his life fighting it,’ she said, referring to Charlie Kirk. ‘So today, we also fight for him. We fight for Charlie Kirk. We fight for our nations. We fight for our children,’ she stressed firmly.
Charlie Kirk’s death was a recurring theme of homage and mourning at the rally. Demonstrators held placards and images bearing his likeness, including signs reading ‘RIP Charlie Kirk’ or declaring that his legacy must not be forgotten. There was a moment of silence in his honour, followed by traditional memorial touches like a bagpiper playing ‘Amazing Grace’. Some attendees described Kirk as a martyr for the cause of conservative values, framing his death as galvanizing rather than silencing.
Around 5,000 attended a counter-protest along a different route in London, mostly consisting of Antifa sympathizers and trade unions. There were reported clashes between protestors and the police, resulting in 24 arrests.
