Brain Bar 2025 will be held on 18–19 September at the House of Music Hungary, once again bringing world-renowned speakers and thought-provoking debates to Budapest. Organizers announced that Ben Lamm, founder of Colossal Biosciences—featured on the cover of TIME magazine for his project to resurrect the extinct dire wolf—will deliver a lecture on the dilemmas of recreating life.
Among the headline guests will be world-renowned physicist Geoffrey West, whose research explores whether a universal law governs the rise and fall of organisms, cities, and companies. The audience will also hear from astronaut Tibor Kapu, who will speak about the human and professional conditions of space exploration.
Over the two-day event, nearly 170 experts and public figures will take the stage. Speakers include media scholar Mara Einstein on the manipulative power of advertising, nature photographer Esther Horvath on the Arctic, and Dubai businessman Khalaf Al Habtoor on the future of the Arab world.
The programme will feature more than ten major debates: Balázs Orbán, the political director of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, on the future of the continent; Minister of Culture and Innovation Balázs Hankó and Chief Executive Officer at the Milestone Institute Péter Palasics on the value of Hungarian degrees; and Regő Lánszki, Sándor Bardóczi, and Balázs Stumpf-Bíró on preparing for climate change.
Other festival themes will cover intergenerational loneliness, new challenges in dating, the growing popularity of thrift shops, and the artistic potential of artificial intelligence. As in previous years, entry will be free for teachers and students, while all ticket proceeds will be donated to Amigos for Children, a volunteer organization supporting young patients.
