President Trump’s deportation efforts are still moving forward full throttle. According to a statement released by the Department of Homeland Security in late September, over 2 million illegal aliens have already been removed from the United States under the second Trump administration.
The target of the next Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raid is Charlotte, North Carolina.
North Carolina is a state President Trump won in last year’s presidential election (although Mecklenburg County, where Charlotte is located, is heavily Democratic), so one might think that ICE raids would be less controversial in this neck of the woods than, for instance, in Los Angeles, California, where they even triggered riots back in June. Furthermore, in August, Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska was brutally murdered by a deranged black homeless criminal in Charlotte, which sparked outrage in the area and resulted in heightened support for law enforcement.
Yet progressive activists still threw a fit over ICE agents coming to the city.
X user Paul A Szypula posted a video, which he purports to be of activists near Charlotte handing out whistles to people to alert illegal immigrants of the presence of law enforcement near them.

The prominent right-wing X page Libs of TikTok shared a video of Buncombe County, North Carolina Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger stating: ‘There’s a certain point where I think we as Democrat officials just need to call a spade a spade: ICE is not well-intentioned. They are here specifically to terrorize our communities. They are not going after criminals, we’ve seen this again and again. I think it’s incredibly important that we are just clear and honest with the community at this point: Costumes and Border Patrol and ICE officials are specifically coming to terrorize communities of colour.’
When looking up Reisinger’s contact information, Libs of TikTok also noticed that he has his ‘preferred pronouns’ listed on his website.
The same popular X account also shared an even more disturbing video about the Charlotte ICE protests. In it, a person in a white van appears to be trying to hit ICE agents with his vehicle. The caption of the post stated that it was someone with prior arrest, who was later pursued in a high-speed chase that left one officer injured.
Libs of TikTok on X (formerly Twitter): "OMGA lunatic with prior arrests tried ramming ICE today with his car in North Carolina. He ended up leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase and one agent was injured.Pray for our brave ICE agents! 🙏🏻The left wants to kiII them. pic.twitter.com/E7QNJ2Tpqp / X"

This would not have been the first instance of violence related to ICE protesters this year. Back in September, a man with the lettering 'ANTI-ICE' carved on his gun's shell casings fired at an ICE facility in Dallas, Texas. However, he only hit two detainees, who passed away.
