The following is the English translation of a press release kindly provided to us by British Embassy Budapest.
His Excellency Justin McKenzie Smith, the new extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the United Kingdom to Hungary, has presented his credentials to President Tamás Sulyok of Hungary at the Sándor Palace. Following diplomatic tradition, he also laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Heroes’ Square.
Upon assuming his post in Hungary, Ambassador Smith said:
‘It is a great honour to begin my service as Ambassador to Hungary, and I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received. I look forward to further strengthening the friendship between our countries and working closely with our Hungarian partners. It is a privilege to be here, and I am excited about the opportunities ahead.’
