The National University of Public Service’s (NKE) talent development programme is open for applications again, launching its fourth year this autumn. The Ludovika Collegium provides free accommodation, personalised training, and a prestigious scholarship to develop responsible, strategically-minded professionals who prioritise the public interest and aim to contribute to Hungarian society.

Qualified professionals with foreign language proficiency are needed in Hungarian public administration to support policymaking and administrative work. The Ludovika Collegium, launched in February 2021 at the National University of Public Service, supports the development of these individuals by providing training beyond traditional university studies. Unlike other talent development schemes, students from any academic field can apply for this six-semester programme, creating an inter-university professional community where members are constantly encouraging each other to acquire new knowledge. The training provided also reflects on current challenges in both the Hungarian and the global environments.

In addition to classroom training, participants in this programme can take advantage of innovative teaching methods, such as institutional visits, training sessions, project work, and workshops to gain foreign experience.

One major advantage of the talent development programme is that every student receives personal attention, while both domestic and foreign mentors, as well as NKE instructors, are contributing to their development. This approach ensures that students not only possess practical knowledge in their respective fields but are also capable of understanding complex relationships and making bold leadership decisions.

This type of personal development greatly promotes the conscious and focused pursuit of individual career goals for students. Besides NKE students, young people studying in daytime programmes at other Hungarian higher education institutions can also apply to the Ludovika Collegium. The most talented and motivated students are selected through a multi-stage admission process.

Applications for the student talent development programme are open until 24 April 2023.
