The fundraising campaign started for Mike and Paula Musgrove, the parents of Lindsay Clancy, has reached over $1 million in funds raised, currently sitting at $1.052 million. Lindsay Clancy is facing three counts of first-degree murder charges in the state of Massachusetts for allegedly strangling her three children to death.
However, an odd, mostly online phenomenon emerged around her trial that we have covered earlier—groups of women coming out in support of the 36-year-old alleged triple child murderer. They either justify her monstrous deed or promote the alternative theory that it was in fact her husband at the time, Patrick Clancy, who committed the crimes.
The GoFundMe campaign is one of the avenues where the sympathizers of Clancy are showing their support.
Started on 11 August, it has reached the $1 million mark in just two weeks. A spokesperson for GoFundMe has confirmed to Yahoo News that the campaign had been vetted, and the parents of Clancy had been confirmed as the eventual recipients of the funds raised.
This is a controversial move by the fundraising site, which in the past has banned similar campaigns for Kyle Rittenhouse, the Wisconsin teen tried for murder and eventually acquitted for his killings during the George Floyd riots in 2020; or for the Canadian truckers protesting COVID-19 pandemic restrictions in January 2022.
Due to such campaigns being removed by the GoFundMe staff, GiveSendGo emerged as a competitor willing to host controversial fundraisers. For instance, in April 2025, over $800,000 was crowdfunded for Shiloh Hendrix, a Minnesota mother who was recorded calling a Somali child a racial slur. She was later convicted of disorderly conduct, but got to keep the money raised in her name.
The ongoing campaign most likely is allowed to stay on GoFundMe because its beneficiaries are Lindsay Clancy’s parents, not Clancy herself, who is being tried for multiple serious felony charges.
However, a look at comments on the campaign page gives clear indications of who the donors are actually supporting. For instance, one user writes: ‘Lindsay, there are no words big enough for this kind of grief. I just want you to know that you are seen’; while another says: ‘Thoughts and prayers are with Lindsay and your entire family. Lindsay, please know you are strong, and I hope that one day you are able to see all the support for you and your family.’

The trial for Lindsay Clancy is nearing its much-anticipated end.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday, 27 August, while jury deliberation is expected to start the next day. From that point onward, it is impossible to tell how much time until the trial ends in a verdict. Jury deliberations end when the jurors reach a unanimous verdict, or when they decide to give up on trying to reach one despite the judge's instructions. In the latter case, the trial ends in a hung jury and without a conviction, but a new trial can be held at the prosecutors' discretion.
