The Hungarian Parliament, also known as the Parliament of Budapest, is an iconic landmark located on the bank of the Danube River in the heart of the city.
It is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful parliamentary buildings in the world,
thanks to its grandeur and impressive architecture.
The construction of the building began in 1885, and it took almost two decades to complete. It was designed by the Hungarian architect Imre Steindl in a unique Gothic Revival style, which combines elements of traditional Hungarian architecture with the architectural style of the late 19th century. The building’s appearance was also influenced by the British Parliament building in London, and it is said that Steindl visited London to study the building before beginning his own design.
The interior of the building is just as impressive as the exterior, featuring richly decorated halls, chambers, and staircases. The main entrance hall features frescoes and stained glass windows, and the main staircase is made of white marble, with a beautiful dome above it.
