Two Afghan illegal immigrants have been convicted of raping a woman at knifepoint in an east London park after attacking her while she was stargazing on a first date.
Khan Agah, 19, and Noorullah Ahmdzai, 26, targeted the woman in Barking Park on 16 August 2025, shortly after she had been lying under the stars with her date while he played guitar. Daily Mail reported that Ahmdzai raped her while Agah held a Swiss Army-type knife to the man’s throat and threatened him.
During the trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court, the woman told jurors that the two men pinned her to the ground before raping her. She became so distressed while giving evidence that proceedings were briefly adjourned. Both defendants had denied rape, threatening with a blade and false imprisonment; Agah also denied assault by penetration.

The convictions emerged just as Britain was debating extraordinary new Home Office guidance for asylum seekers explaining that rape, sexual harassment and sex with children are illegal, giving the case a disturbing irony.
The nine-page booklet, Understanding Behaviours and Expectations in the UK, tells arrivals that consent is required for sex, including within marriage, that anyone under 16 cannot legally consent, and that threats, force or pressure must never be used to obtain sex. It also warns against sexual remarks, following people or making ‘kissing sounds’ at strangers.
The guidance immediately triggered both outrage and ridicule online. Conservative MP Katie Lam wrote that if arrivals do not already know that rape and sex with children are wrong, ‘the answer isn’t to tell them when they come here and hope for the best. It’s to never let them into our country in the first place.’ Reform UK leader Nigel Farage asked: ‘Why are we letting these people into our country?’, while Reform home affairs spokesman Zia Yusuf called the guidance a ‘disgrace’.
The timing gave those reactions added force when the Barking Park verdicts were reported. Court News UK explicitly described Agah and Ahmdzai as illegal immigrants. GB News further reported that Ahmdzai had arrived in Britain by small boat in August 2023.
The Home Office says the guidance is intended to make clear that ignorance of British law is no excuse, warning that offenders can face the refusal of their asylum claims and removal from the UK.
On the same day, Daily Mail reported that two Afghan migrants had appeared at Inner London Crown Court accused of raping a 14-year-old girl on a train from Kent to London. Baryalai Rahimi, 25, faces three rape charges and other sexual offences, while Mirebadurahman Sadat, 29, is charged with assault by penetration and causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity; both have pleaded not guilty.
