Hungarian students will be able to purchase a five-day Sziget Festival pass at a 50 per cent discount if they buy a monthly public transport pass through the BudapestGO application between 19 January and 31 July, festival organizers announced on Monday.
The discount scheme was approved by the Budapest City Assembly on 26 November 2025, under an agreement with the Sziget Cultural Management. This year’s Sziget Festival will be held on Hajógyári Island from 11–15 August.
Under the ticket promotion, users with a valid pass must first register on a dedicated subpage of the Centre for Budapest Transport (BKK) website. They will then receive a unique coupon code by email, which can be redeemed on the official Sziget website for the product titled Sziget Student Pass by BudapestGO.
The promotion runs from 19 January until 31 July or until available passes are sold out due to the festival’s limited capacity. The discount is available to customers holding a valid Hungarian student ID and is linked to public transport passes valid in the capital. Student ID and eligibility will be checked by the Sziget Cultural Management at entry.
Each user may request a coupon code only once during the promotion period, regardless of how many student passes they purchase. Eligible passes bought through BudapestGO include the discounted Pest county pass, the discounted national pass, and monthly Budapest passes for students in public and higher education.
Eligible passes can be purchased in the app until 29 July, registration is open until 30 July, and coupon codes can be redeemed in the Sziget webshop until 31 July. Further details and registration information are available on the BKK website.
