Tim Pool, a popular right-wing podcaster and influencer, has claimed in an X post that a vehicle approached and opened fire at his residence in West Virginia on Friday night. All this is happening just three months after the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

‘Last night a vehicle approached our property and opened fire,’ right-wing podcaster and influencer Tim Pool posted the shocking message on X on the morning of Saturday, 6 December.

‘No one was hurt. Our security team is reviewing the incident and will be relaying the report to the appropriate law enforcement. This is the price we pay for speaking out against evil,’ he continued the message. The post now has 85,000 likes, 13,000 retweets, and 9,000 comments.

In a follow-up message, he went on to share that he is in contact with both local law enforcement and the FBI, and called on the public to share if anyone has archived the live stream in which gunshots can be heard. He also placed the time of the shooting between midnight and 1am on Friday, 5 December, and estimated the number of shots fired at three, based on information from his security team.

Tim Pool on X (formerly Twitter): “Security believes three shots were fired. We are in contact with police and FBI.Thank you everyone who reached out.If anyone has archived Chicken City the shots should be audible. Unfortunately we do not archive the livestream. This would be Friday between midnight and 1am / X”

All this is happening only about three months after the assassination of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk in Orem, Utah.

Pool has received public messages of support from public figures such as outgoing Georgia Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene, former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz, his sitting local West Virginia Congressman Riley Moore (all Republicans), and world-famous British journalist Piers Morgan.

However, fellow right-wing influencer Candace Owens has seemingly expressed scepticism about whether the shooting actually happened and called on Pool to provide more evidence. While her words on X could also be interpreted as genuine advice on investigating the incident, her recent claims about Charlie Kirk’s shooting—which challenge the FBI’s theory about the events and have put forward multiple alternative conspiracies—made most people believe that Owens is insinuating that she does not believe Pool’s claims.

Candace Owens on X (formerly Twitter): “Can security provide a description of the vehicle so people can help you track these people down? Also if shots were fired they had to hit something so you can likely recover the bullets and trace the gun owner(s). https://t.co/SBQBPYMWf5 / X”

39-year-old Pool resides in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, in one of the most conservative states in the Union. Despite that, he has been targeted by left-wing protestors in his area in the past, when he tried to open up a skate park in Martinsburg, West Virginia, in 2024.

Tim Pool started his career as an online political content creator in 2011, amidst the Occupy Wall Street protests. He was originally considered a liberal political figure. During the 2016 presidential election, he supported Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent who ran in the Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton. By the 2020 election, however, he had become a vocal supporter of President Donald Trump.
