As expected, the ‘chat’ between former US President and current Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and Elon Musk has gone viral. The interview, broadcast live on X on Monday evening, US time, has garnered over 168 million views by the time of writing. The discussion spanned a wide range of topics, including inflation, the border crisis, and the Democrats’ foreign policy. Trump, of course, did not hold back in his criticism of his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Bulgarian Ban on LGBTQ Propaganda in Schools Mirrors Hungarian Child Protection Act — Will Brussels Punish Sofia?

The recently adopted amendment to the Bulgarian education law is very similar to the Child Protection Act introduced by the Hungarian government in 2021, which prohibits the dissemination of harmful LGBTQ and gender propaganda in educational institutions. The Hungarian child protection law is one of the reasons why Brussels is withholding EU funds from Hungary, and the European Commission is expected to take similar action against Bulgaria.

Manfred Weber Wants Hungarian Schengen Membership Suspended over Immigration Rules

President of the European People’s Party Manfred Weber is urging EU Member States to respond to the Hungarian worker visa changes with the strictest possible measures. Starting 8 July, Belarusian and Russian workers, along with nationals of six other countries, will be able to enter and work in Hungary under relaxed conditions. This move has infuriated the famously anti-Hungarian Weber, who claims it threatens the entire Schengen area. The European Commission has the power to suspend a state’s Schengen membership, although this has never happened before.
