Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán issued a stark warning on Monday, writing on X that ‘barbarism has taken root’ in Sweden due to the abandonment of traditional values, disregard for common sense, and weak governance.
Orbán criticized Sweden’s justice system for allowing criminal organizations to exploit minors with impunity. Citing reporting from German daily Die Welt, he said organized crime groups have been using Swedish children to commit murders, confident that the system will not punish them.
‘A country once known for order and security is now collapsing: more than 280 underage girls have been arrested for murder, and families live in fear. The situation is heartbreaking. The Swedish people deserve better,’ Orbán wrote.

In an accompanying video, Orbán said that the week’s most shocking news was the arrest of 284 underage girls in Sweden for involvement in killings orchestrated by mafia networks. According to him, these gangs used minors as gunmen precisely because they could not be convicted.
‘The Swedish people deserve better’
‘This is how it all unravels: rules vanish, order collapses, and barbarism takes its place. It’s not simply a mistake, it’s an abandonment of civilization,’ Orbán said. He stressed that the purpose of the rule of law is to guarantee people’s safety. ‘Where minors are systematically exploited for murders, the rule of law is dead,’ he declared. The Prime Minister closed his message by calling Sweden ‘a great and noble nation’ and expressing solidarity: ‘It’s heartbreaking, the Swedish people deserve better!’
Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson responded to the post, accusing Orbán of lying and dismantling the rule of law in Hungary.
Ulf Kristersson on X (formerly Twitter): “These are outrageous lies. Not surprising coming from the man who is dismantling the rule of law in his own country. Orbán is desperate ahead of the upcoming Hungarian election. https://t.co/55uPGwPvMi / X”

Orbán continued the thread, responding ‘The abandonment of traditional values, the neglect of common sense, and weak governance have led to barbarism taking root in the home of one of Europe’s greatest nations. Criminal gangs are using underage girls as instruments of killing.
The mission of the rule of law is to ensure the safety of our people. Where underage girls are systematically used for murder, the rule of law is dead. Sweden is our friend, and the Swedish people are a great and noble nation.’
