Miklós Szánthó, director general of the Center for Fundamental Rights, the Budapest-based think tank in charge of organizing CPAC Hungary 2024, held a press conference on the evening before Day 1 of the grandiose event.

The political fault lines have been realigned along two essential dimensions by 2024: globalists and sovereignists, and pro-war and pro-peace,

Director Szánthó pointed out at the conference. He also told reporters that the common ground between the conservative forces is clear, as they all share the values of Western civilisation, the triple unity of God, country, and family. Modern communism, however, stands in opposition to that. The woke denies all this and ignores the fact that war is not a game.

‘That is why CPAC Hungary will be the Wokebusters: we’re going to “de-woke” so that we can drain the swamp in Brussels in June and then in Washington in November,’ the Director General said. Mr Szánthó went on to say that the upcoming US presidential elections are of great importance, because ‘only a great power led by Donald Trump can achieve a ceasefire in the war in Ukraine, which has broken out because of Russian aggression, and persuade the belligerent parties to negotiate peace’.

Matt Schlapp, president of the American Conservative Union, praised the governance of the Hungarian nationalist side: ‘Viktor Orbán’s policies give hope to right-wingers around the world and serve as an example to conservative lawmakers in the United States,’ he stated.

The Director General also shared that this year’s conference will be bigger than ever before, as the organizers are expecting a record number of 3,000 attendees, including 500 foreign guests. The event will attract 80 speakers from all six continents, including two incumbent and three former heads of government, seven ministers, ten party leaders and three US congressmen.
