Historically, cavalry was the battlefield’s fastest shock force—terrifyingly mobile and capable of delivering decisive blows. A well-timed charge could shatter enemy lines in ways musket fire alone never could. Today, that same deadly mobility is embodied by Hungary’s high-tech armed forces, offering a modern token of security in an age of uncertainty.

This operation is part of Hungary’s strategic contribution to the European Union Battlegroup, further fortifying Hungary’s role as a reliable partner in the pursuit of shared European security goals.

The exercise featured a live-fire training operation, where Hungarian soldiers performed integrated combat procedures, directly aligned with the demands of modern warfare.

The commander of the company, First Lieutenant Mihály Soós explained that with the support of Gidrán armoured vehicles, soldiers executed a precision airburst strike using Carl Gustaf anti-tank rockets, neutralizing enemy forces hidden in trenches. Infantry squads then cleared the trenches with live-fire, and a controlled demolition was carried out to secure a breach for further progression. ‘Our sniper team, backed by drone-assisted targeting, eliminated key enemy positions with pinpoint accuracy,’ Soós added.

The equipment used during the offensive operations underscores Hungary’s readiness to meet the highest standards of modern military operations. This coordinated manoeuvre highlights not only Hungary’s military capability but also its unwavering determination to maintain national sovereignty while contributing meaningfully to international security alliances. This exercise serves as a powerful demonstration of how Hungary—with its patriotic dedication, cutting-edge technology, and well-trained armed forces—stands as a pillar of strength within the broader framework of European and global security.

Hungary remains firmly committed to strengthening its national defence. As part of this effort, 56 new Gidrán armoured vehicles will soon be deployed to reinforce the Hungarian Defence Forces.

Produced by the Nurol Holding industrial conglomerate in Türkiye and equipped with unique Hungarian-integrated radar and weapon systems, this strategic collaboration bolsters the domestic defence industry and showcases Hungarian technical expertise, as well as serving as a testament to the strong Turkish–Hungarian friendship. The Gidrán, a robust and agile combat vehicle, meets the complex demands of modern warfare. With this acquisition, Hungary enhances its military capability, safeguarding national sovereignty and the security of its people.
