According to estimates, in November Russia suffered over 900 casualties a day; thousands of Ukrainian civilians and more than 30,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since the start of the invasion. It is clear that the cost of the war is becoming unbearably high.

Senator Diana Șoșoacă, who recently had to form her own party after being expelled from her old group, shouted anti-Hungarian slogans while Senator Turos from RMDSZ, the party representing ethnic Hungarians, was making a speech about what the 1 December holiday meant to the Hungarians living in Transylvania.

It would be crucial to allocate the necessary resources to promoting educational and informative content on TikTok that targets the Roma youth, as part of the broader government-funded inclusion programmes. Thanks to TikTok’s omnipresence, such a scheme has the potential of reaching almost all Hungarian Roma youth directly and of proactively influencing their cultural and social development, integration, and desegregation in a cost-effective manner.

The German constitutional court has recently declared it unconstitutional that the Berlin government had re-channelled some 60 billion euros of the fund created to tackle the coronavirus crisis into the climate protection fund. The ruling, having reinforced the strictures on further borrowing, will definitely have an impact on the not-yet-adopted 2024 budget.

A recent survey revealed that three-quarters of Hungarians (76 per cent) support the purchase of modern military technologies and the pay hike for soldiers, while two-thirds (69 per cent) are in favour of increasing the size of the defence forces.

It is high time the Ambassador (or rather, Embarassador) stopped hurling baseless accusations at the Orbán government, and instead, got down to doing what the real mission of an ambassador is: foster bilateral relations. Last time we checked, ruining the Hungarian-US relationship is not part of the job.
