With Rubio, Waltz, Next Trump Administration’s Foreign Policy Looks Promising for Hungary

Press reports indicate that in Donald Trump’s new administration Marco Rubio will be appointed Secretary of State, and Mike Waltz will take on the role of national security advisor. These likely appointments are promising for Hungary, as both politicians hold views on key issues—such as the war in Ukraine and tensions in the Middle East—that align with Budapest’s foreign policy.

The November Pogrom

‘According to Dutch intelligence, Iran has used Moroccan Dutch gangsters to eliminate two “enemies of the state” abroad, but it also actively protects clan leaders. Between 2019 and 2021, during the time of the trial of a Moroccan clan chief, a key witness’ brother was killed, followed by his lawyer and finally a crime reporter who was covering the case. And what about antisemitism? Dutch Jews have been sounding the alarm for years.’

Can President Trump Contain the Blob? — The Challenges of Foreign Policy

‘It is not so much members of the Blob influencing American foreign policy for their own personal gain that has yielded catastrophic results but rather the hubris of spreading illiberal democracy after the collapse of the Soviet Union. The Orange Revolution, sparked by this elite under the bogus notion to reshape Ukraine into a liberal democracy, is just one inept demonstration of this.’

‘Religious extremism is on the rise in Europe’, Hungarian Government Official Says

According to the OIDAC’s 2022/2023 report, there was a 44 per cent increase in crimes against Christians in those two years. In 2022, OIDAC documented as many as 749 anti-Christian hate crimes. The report points out that there is a reasonable probability that the actual numbers are higher, due to limited reporting as a result of the crimes’ chilling effect on victims, and the lack of media coverage. OIDAC found that Christian converts of Muslim origin are particularly vulnerable to violence.

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris waves as she boards from Air Force Two at LaGuardia Airport in Queens, New York, on 2 November 2024.

What Would President Kamala Harris’ Foreign Policy Look Like?

‘The question of what a Harris administration’s foreign policy would be is rather like asking a cat its views on quantum mechanics: you’re unlikely to get much clarity. There’s been a rather large absence of any discernible worldview to distinguish her from her boss, Joe Biden. Indeed, one might say her foreign policy is as elusive as the Hungarian summer—everyone has vague expectations, but no one is quite sure what it’ll look like when it finally arrives.’

The USS Coral Sea at the end of 1956 with the message May God help you

The Message of a US Aircraft Carrier from 1956 — Fortepan’s 200,000th Photo

An American sailor of Hungarian origin served on the Coral Sea, perhaps as a helmsman. He was probably the one to come up with the idea that the money originally collected for the crew’s Christmas presents be given to Hungarian refugees instead, and a total of 7,500 US dollars were thus donated to the refugee aid fund. It may have been the same serviceman to suggest that the crew form the message ‘May God help you’ in Hungarian on the deck. Unfortunately, the name and story of the Hungarian American sailor remain unknown.

Bryan Leib Is Confident in a Trump Landslide

‘The stakes in the upcoming election involve securing America’s borders, achieving energy independence, and revitalizing the economy to reverse inflation and job loss. A return to Trump’s policies will ensure national security, bolster the U.S. economy, and reinforce American strength on the world stage. Trump’s approach emphasizes “peace through strength” and aims to curb crime,’ Bryan Leib, Senior Fellow at the Center for Fundamental Rights told Hungarian Conservative.

Donald Trump’s Risky Tariff Proposal

‘The U.S. has dramatically evolved since its founding, when tariffs were the only source of revenue for the federal government. Despite the higher costs falling on American consumers and the harms to U.S. employment and production, especially in the manufacturing sector, both the Trump campaign and the Biden–Harris administration have continued to defend the trade war tariffs.’
