Orbán: Brussels Decisions Raised Energy Prices
In his speech to Hungary’s parliament on Monday, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán noted that while US prices for oil, natural gas, and electricity are a fraction of those in Europe, countries in Europe are currently paying a sanctions surcharge on these commodities.
Gas Supply of EU Halted, unless Sanctions Are Lifted
As fears over Russian gas supplies continued to drive up energy costs, the Kremlin stated that Russia won’t fully restore its gas exports to Europe unless the west relaxes its sanctions against Moscow.
