Despite the Hungarian fervour and the crime plot introduced and dropped in the story, the film was no success. Hungarian viewers could not relate to the characters in a film portraying an overseas world.

Perhaps we underestimate the magnitude of this problem because it is not like a factory chimney blowing smoke, an oil slick floating on the surface of the water, or the garbage that covers our neighbourhoods.
