Anna Donáth, the former president of the left-wing Momentum party in Hungary, allegedly used physical force to obstruct a criminal investigation by the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) in February 2022. Since she failed to win another term in the European Parliament, Donáth lost her political immunity and was now questioned as a suspect in a criminal investigation.

Three Romanian boys have been expelled from the Romanian Gymnastics National Team in response to the horrific incident. They have been named in the press as well: Mihai Iustin, Andrei Titi, and Flavius Borca. The Resicabánya (Rešica) police are also reportedly investigating the matter.

The 15-year-old boy was allegedly tied to a radiator naked while the other gymnasts were chanting ‘ungure, ungure,’ meaning ‘Hungarian, Hungarian’ in English. It is unclear if legal action will be taken against the perpetrators.

However, in an unexpected turn of events, the judge ended up not accepting the deal after the defence and prosecution failed to agree whether it would shield Hunter Biden from any potential further charges. The Biden family’s shady dealings go way deeper than what was included in the plea bargain.

Target deciding to pull some of its controversial LGBT merchandise proves that the conservative consumer base in the United States does have considerable power to counteract the mainstream push of LGBTQ activism, even if the current administration is against them in that fight, unlike in Hungary.



Gergely Karácsony’s 99 Movement received over 650 million HUF in funding, mostly after they went inactive with the Budapest Mayor dropping out of the primary race for prime minister. The organisation claims that the bulk of its revenue came from ‘microdonations’ collected in cash in drop-boxes at live events. However, even opposition media admit that this is more than unrealistic given the large sum, and the fact that much of it came in foreign currencies.

US Ambassador to Hungary David Pressman caused quite an outrage with his recent decision to invite Jobbik president Márton Gyöngyösi to celebrate the Jewish holiday of Pesach at his residence. Gyöngyösi called for the creation of a list of Hungarian politicians of Jewish ancestry some years ago.

Two major pieces of news broke in the last couple of days involving Former US President Donald Trump. On Friday, he posted to his Facebook and YouTube accounts for the first time after an over two-year-long ban. The next day, however, he took to his own social media site claiming that he would be arrested on Tuesday.
