Two Christian teachers in Escondido, California sued their school district for forcing them to withhold form the parents if their child was identifying as of another gender at school. The US District Court for the Southern District of California ruled in their favour in the first phases of the civil case, granting preliminary injunction prohibiting the enforcement of the school directive, and rejecting the defendants’ motion to dismiss the case.
US President Joe Biden’s son was supposed to enter a plea agreement in which he pleads guilty to two misdemeanour charges of tax evasion. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the judge ended up not accepting the deal after the defence and prosecution failed to agree whether it would shield Hunter Biden from any potential further charges. The Biden family’s shady dealings go way deeper than what was included in the plea bargain.
Mária Ádám-Haszonics, Zoltán Lomnici, András Patyi, and Réka Varga have all been confirmed to the Constitutional Court by a two-thirds majority vote in the parliament, replacing the four term-limited former justices on the 15-member panel. The Court has the power to strike down legislation if they find it incompatible with the Fundamental Law of Hungary.
At a conference on Monday, Justice Minister Judit Varga assured everyone that the separation between the judiciary and executive power is enshrined in law in Hungary. She also opined that the current ‘crisis of confidence’ between Hungary and the EU is caused by the continuous unjustified attacks on the country over the years, and not the supposed faults in Hungary’s justice system.

The Republican presidential frontrunner allegedly mishandled classified information related to national defence. Democrat Joe Biden and Hillary Clinton were investigated for similar alleged misconducts before, however, they were never charged.
State Secretary for European Affairs János Bóka is confident that about one-third, €13 billion, of the withheld EU funds will be received by Hungary by 2027. The London-based Financial Times, in a piece covering the contentious negotiations, seems to agree with his assertion.
