At the award ceremony held in Singapore on 30 May, Hungarian real estate projects won three gold and one silver medal. The MOL Campus secured two first prizes, winning gold in both the office building and the environmental architecture categories.
The recent article by Máté Sibrányi and Gábor Virágos in the Kommentár magazine outlines the importance of preserving our architectural heritage, and charting more of our church ruins. According to the authors, these ruins are part of our Christian heritage, and therefore deserve more attention.
‘On the one hand, future Hungarian architecture must be modern regarding technology, use, and lifestyle. It must express the world in which we live in a modern way. However, on the other hand, it must also be appropriate, expressing the identity of the place where we were born for a reason. This is our job, and this is our image.’
