The teams are going to visit Romania, Ukraine, Hungary, Slovakia and Poland. The goal of the visits is to raise awareness and emphasise that stricter regulations are required in the defence of Europe’s last remaining old and untouched forests.

21 March is dedicated to forests worldwide, while 22 March marks World Water Day. To celebrate these two days, we showcase the natural treasures of the Duna-Ipoly National Park, which offers plenty of opportunities to explore the beauty of Hungarian forests and freshwater sources.

While green groups and opposition parties are harshly criticizing the new regulations on tree felling implemented by the government, experts and government officials insist the new rules will not endanger Hungary’s forests.
