Lőrinc Nacsa and István Hollik, politicians of the Christian Democratic People’s Party (KDNP), submitted a bill to the National Assembly on Tuesday proposing to ban the sale of energy drinks to minors. In the justification of the bill they stated that the consumption of energy drinks among young people in Hungary has reached alarming levels.

‘It is important to note that all food and even water should be consumed in moderation,’ Secretary-General of the Hungarian Energy Drinks Association Sándor Csibi said, emphasizing that the association believes in protecting children from all health hazards, but in this case, they advocate for education and awareness instead of a ban.

The recipe is kept secret and stored on a computer with high-level security measures, with a backup copy being held in a Swiss vault, the Hungarian energy drinks company highlighted in a statement.
