The goal of the roadshow is to integrate sustainable and eco-friendly energy into everyday life and promote green transitions. The series of events offer attendees the opportunity to test their skills in go-kart slaloms, acquaint themselves with road safety at the Road Safety Park, explore an e-car exhibition, and experience various virtual ‘exhibitions’ related to green mobility through VR goggles.

Palkovics emphasized that approximately 20 per cent of Hungary’s energy mix is consumed in the transport sector, primarily relying on fossil fuels. This dependence poses a considerable challenge to transitioning towards sustainable, domestically producible energy sources that are less burdensome on the environment.

According to a statement released by Mercedes-Benz on Tuesday, a total of 4,419 Mercedes-Benz cars were registered in Hungary in 2023. Notably, a quarter of these models (639 units) were produced in Kecskemét, with the CLA (314 units), the A-Class (280 units), and the EQB (45 units) continuing to play significant roles in domestic sales.

Last year, 22,651 vehicles with official green markings were registered domestically, making 2023 another record year, surpassing the nearly 21,000-unit expansion peak in 2022.

According to the Ministry of Energy’s plans, domestic enterprises can apply for non-refundable state support from a budget of 30 billion HUF for the purchase of purely electric cars, light trucks, or minibuses.
