The John von Neumann Computer Society’s HCC Retro Microcomputer Division’s competition yielded a series of intriguing submissions, including games and demos. The aim was to resurrect the legendary Hungarian Homelab-3 microcomputer, entirely developed in Hungary.

The Day of Hungarian Poetry, celebrated annually on 11 April since 1964, honours the nation’s rich literary heritage and the enduring contributions of its poets, both past and present. Hungary submitted the Hungarian string orchestra tradition as an independent nomination, and it has become the latest Hungarian element of intangible cultural heritage to be added to the international list, following the Mohács Busójárás, the Matyó embroidery, falconry, and blue-dyeing (kékfestés).

Budapest’s inclusion in the list of top student cities is the result of its exceptional educational institutions, rich cultural heritage, affordable living costs, student-friendly environment, and excellent transportation infrastructure.

The newly crowned British monarch arrived in Transylvania, Romania, a few days ago. King Charles III is a frequent guest in the Eastern European country, as he is especially attracted to Szeklerland of Eastern Transylvania, mostly inhabited by Hungarians, where he owns several estates.

If someone has not been to the fortresses and palaces of Hungary in the last 20 or 30 years, and is just now returning to see the biggest attractions, they are definitely in for a big surprise, seeing how much has been completely renovated over the years.

While there are only two cold-blooded horses that originate from historical Hungary, there are several warmbloods. Of the Hungarian warmblood horses, the most famous one is probably the Hucul pony, also known as the Carpathian pony. This breed is a direct descendant of wild horses.

In accordance with the established practice, special rapporteurs submit annually their thematic report on the events and experiences of the previous period. On 6 March, UN Special Rapporteur on Minority Issues Fernand de Varennes published the Proposal for a Draft Global Convention on the Rights of Minorities attached to his annual thematic report.
