The MCC Debate Academy offers a free training programme for those interested in enhancing their critical thinking skills and applying their newly acquired knowledge in various debate settings. Interested participants can apply for the one-year debate leadership training until 22 September.

‘The problem we’re having today is I think we’re becoming a culture that’s increasingly obsessive about the factual, technical detail, and we’re losing that sense of the whole into which it fits. And the whole isn’t about facts. It’s about interpretation of facts. That isn’t a fault, but a feature, of being human,’ says Calum T M Nicholson, Director of MCC’s Climate Institute.

One thing is clear: it is ethically good to reject antisemitism and terror apologetics. Such basic uprightness does not conflict with critical reflections on a heterogeneous, power-unequal world—because genuine critical thinking has never caused anyone to become an anti-Semite or a terror apologist.
